Thank you to everyone that came out yesterday and shopped Unglued Craftfest in Fargo. It was such a fun day and so nice to meet new vendors and shoppers! The Plain Arts Museum in downtown Fargo was an impressive venue, especially with the sun shining in all day and live music being played. Terrific show! Oh...and I also won 'Most Awesome Booth - 2nd Place'! Yippee!
Who knew? Fargo! Last year was Fargo's first indie craft fest, Unglued, and it was said to have been a smashing success! Folks in Fargo were lined up outside the doors to shop for handmade goods made by various artists/crafters from the area. Well, you can find me at Unglued this weekend partaking in the 2nd year of this show. It should be worth the road trip and I'm looking forward to meeting new crafters! Yay!
And...they also have a booth contest, so I've been thinking of ways to add more appeal to my display. I'll have these beautiful eye-catching flowers planted everywhere on my table!
My new favorite thing! Don't get me wrong...I love embellishing my felt flowers with vintage buttons, however yesterday I opened a box of vintage jewelry that I purchased last summer and much to my surprise, I LOVE how they accent my felt flowers. Love them! I can't believe I didn't open that box earlier! So, now in addition to buttons, I can add vintage jewelry to my thrift and flea market hunts this summer! These are some of my favorites...
Happy New Year! It's been so unusually warm this winter that it has me thinking of spring. So, it was a nice change to start creating new, fresh, bright-colored flowers this weekend. Very refreshing! You can find them at I Like You in NE Mpls or in my Etsy shop very soon.
A large shipment of felt arrived on my doorstep last week! I love it when this happens. It's so much fun to open the boxes, sort through the colors and organize it all in my craft space. So, my Etsy Shop has been updated with a selection of 40 beautiful colors to choose from...think of all the wonderful things you could make!
A fabulous new book was released last month - Fabric-by-Fabric One-Yard Wonders - a collection of sewing projects that require just one yard of fabric! Pretty cool, huh? Rebecca and Trish are not only awesome & craft-famous, but they do a really great job of supporting local, handmade artists & crafters in the Twin Cities. So...I was honored when they asked if they could feature one of my felt flowers in the book! Very cool. Check it out:

Thought I'd share some new product photos with you. Not many...but you get the idea. I've made necklaces, set of 3 bobby pins and set of 4 thumbtacks with my new fabric button maker and will have them for sale soon!
This is so much fun! It's my new addiction...a button machine. So easy to use and so fun to play with. This one belongs to a girlfriend of mine, but I recently purchased one on eBay that'll get put to use as soon as I clean it up. I'm making new products with fabric covered buttons and will share with you in the very near future. For now, I'm busy pressing out buttons!

Is the name of the sale coming up this weekend! I'll be participating in this sale, mostly selling my handmade flowers but have a few garage sales finds to add. The other ladies have ADORABLE merchandise that they've found, painted, refurbished, handmade, etc. This sale is a transition from Front Porch Finds which was run by my friend, Sabrina, who now owns her own store front in Watertown, SD called Shoppe on the Corner. Well, we had a very small garden last year (even smaller than this one), but Kent built a quick frame, laid the ground work so that we could expand our herbs and veggies this year. Can't wait for those fresh tomatoes!

Yes! My sister & I were proud finishers of the Minneapolis 1/2 Marathon yesterday. It was a beautiful morning despite the sun beating down on us and the rough hills to climb, but we did it! A first for my sister...congratulations!!!

I think my favorite part of my new iPhone is the camera. It's so clear and can actually create quite a nice photograph. Once again, I often ask myself, Did I really just take that photo with this phone? Anyway, I've learned about some super fun photo apps out there to create really neat shots. Picture Show, Instagram, Camera Bag, Tilt Shift Generator...to name a few. There are lots of them to experiment with! Here are some photos I've snapped using the Instagram app. The Earlybird is my favorite filter!

I finally got an iPhone and LOVE IT! I often wonder why I waited this long to get one. I'm so happy to have this fantastic gadget in my hands. I'm amazed every time I use it & often ask myself, Did I really just make that happen using my finger? It's pretty incredible!
Well, check out this awesome 1" square attachment. It's called Square and it easily allows you to accept credit cards on your iPhone. This has just made accepting credit cards at craft shows a heck of a lot easier for me. One swipe, customer signs name on phone, complete! Genious.
Back to the iPhone...I think my favorite part is the camera...but that's another post.

Alyssa & Tom are getting married in two weeks in Tuscon. I recently met Alyssa (a referral from the wedding I did last year) and she is one of the sweetest people I've met, not to mention a 7-year pastry chef which I think is totally cool. I was honored when she asked me to create flowers for her wedding, so we've had lots of fun sipping on coffee, chatting and choosing colors/designs that match her southwest, casual theme. Have I mentioned what a great cook my husband is??? He has the skill to "whip up" fabulous meals without using a recipe. Much unlike myself. This was the delicious meal he put together last night on a whim. Baked chicken breasts topped with garlic, onions and bacon, sugard-coated carrots and peppered red potatoes...all with a dash of cayenne and drizzled with a garlic butter sauce. It was a pleasant surprise!
